Renting 101
Beautiful wedding at Ostertag Vistas this past weekend! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, we had a blast!
Helpful Hints: Renting 101
DON ’T:
Choose high-end specialty china and silverware. Cut costs and use the standard option, especially if your caterer offers standard china, silverware, and stemware. Besides guests won’t notice the color rim on the china, they’re too busy chatting and enjoying a delicious meal!
DO:
Choose wooden folding chairs overChiavaris. They are more fitting for an outdoor reception and you’ll save more than $8 per chair.
DON ’T:
Use multiple rental companies if you can find an all-for-one deal! If you can use the same vendor or better yet, your caterer, to supply tables, chairs, linens, china, food & drink, bartenders, and so forth then do so. Plus you’ll only pay ONE delivery and setup fee and it will save you time since your corresponding with ONE point of contact.
DO:
Maximize your table space. Make sure you are seating all eight people (standard for 5ft round guest tables) if your table dimensions allows for 6-8 guests per table. This way you don’t rent extra tables and linens than is necessary.
DON ’T:
Use a cheap rental company, or you’ll run into some scary surprises. Make sure you’re dealing with pros that are upfront about their terms of contract and have your back on your wedding day! Get exact times for delivery and pickup written in your rental agreement– you’d hate for the tent not be set up in time for the reception or the linen company charge you an additional charge because they forgot to mention they don’t work “after-hours” to pick up linen directly after your event if your venue has strict rules on pickup and delivery times.
